Dr. José E. Quiñones Sampedro
Graduated in Medicine from the University of Salamanca (1996-2002), specialised in MFyC at the Hospital Clinico San Carlos de Madrid (2003-2006). After a brief contact with primary care, I decided to re-examine the MIR to access the Residency of General Surgery and Digestive System at the General University Hospital of Guadalajara (2007-2012).
After obtaining the grant for the final year residents of the AEC, I was able to enjoy a 9-week stay under the direction of Dr Martinez-Isla at St Marks Hospital in West London, UK, where I had the opportunity to have my first experiences with laparoscopic exploration of the biliary tract and the treatment of choledocholithiasis in a single act.
After finishing my residency, I did a training at the HM San Chinarro in Madrid for two months, focusing on the HBP activity and the beginning of robotics in this centre.
I worked as an on-call surgeon at the Hospital of Guadalajara until my final incorporation to the Complejo Asistencial Universitario de Salamanca (CAUSA).
A member of the HBP and Pancreas Transplant Unit since October 2013, I have been able to implement and develop the ELVBP at my hospital since that year.
